A Special First Birthday Celebration
It was so wonderful to see Charlotte again for these very special photos. I’ve gotten to know this lovely family over the years and now have photographed all three of their kids, with Miss Charlotte being their youngest baby girl. She was super adorable as she came into the studio to celebrate with first birthday photos, and we captured so many cute photos of her in both her pink tulle dress and then during her fabulous cake smash.
Taking the Session at Charlotte's Pace
Charlotte was a little shy at first but we worked at her pace to make sure she felt comfortable. Mom stayed close by and we took some breaks to hold her lovey and have some milk, plus she enjoyed the little puff snacks which helped us capture some great photos.
One of the things I have always loved about photographing little ones is that every session is unique. Taking things at their pace always leads to more genuine expressions and happy memories.
Sweet Portraits in Pink
She was adorable in her pink tulle dress that we paired with my pink and purple boho background. She sat and played with beads, held the wooden letters spelling “one”, and even tried out a basket and special curved chair.
She handled the new surroundings, bright studio lights, and camera beautifully, and we captured so many sweet expressions throughout her portrait session.
A Cake Smash Full of Smiles (and Sprinkles!)
After our nice portraits we switched over to my pink and purple balloons and decor background which was perfect for her cake smash. She has a coordinating purple romper with a number one on the front, and she really perked up with the little snacks so we got some great smiles and giggles from her!
Then we brought out the cake and boy did she know exactly what to do. She went down face first several times to grab bites of frosting and really loved the sprinkles on top. She was quite happily focused on her cake and really enjoyed the sweet treat, crawling around and continuing to eat until the crawling part was more fun.

It was such a fun morning celebrating Charlotte's first birthday and documenting this special milestone for a family I've been honored to photograph over the years. Watching families grow and welcoming them back for each new chapter is something I'll always treasure.
