I just recently got back from a fantastic two days learning and absorbing from celebrity photographer, Keri Meyers, in Phoenix, Arizona. I got to discuss all aspects of newborn photography from studio lighting, prop selection, posing, newborn safety, and post-editing workflow. I feel like I learned so much in such a short amount of time yet also that it was a whirlwind trip! It was also nice for this busy mom to take a brief break for one of my passions and have dedicated time to focus without three little kids interrupting. (You can accomplish so much when allowed to complete a train of thought!) I also must admit just to travel on a plane by myself was quite nice. I even read a book (an actual adult book!) on the plane! I can't remember the last time that happened where I didn't spend a trip coloring Tinkberbell or Thomas the Train.
But back to the workshop... I'm so beyond glad I went and got to pick Keri's brain on so many different details. I took lots of notes and came back with new ideas and concepts to implement that make me super excited for my next newborn session. And, as a matter of fact, the next little guy is scheduled to arrive on my birthday - what an awesome birthday gift.
Here are some of my photos from the workshop where I got to shadow Keri and get a feel for her studio lighting. Enjoy!
