Dahlia's First Birthday Sneak Peek

Dahlia was a little shy when she first arrived for her first birthday photo session, but she did a great job at trying the new props, chairs, and even cake! Plus her parents were troopers for remaining calm and before we knew it we had a happy baby who showed us a few sneaky smiles and gave her cake a fair chance.

Her parents opted for a classic and simple white background and Dahlia had an adorable pink tulle dress with flowers on it. She liked playing and sorting the pearl necklaces and so we let her get comfortable with dad sitting nearby.

She also loved trying all the different chairs and the little basket, so we let her climb in and out as she proved to be super stable at standing on her own. It was great that she then started to warm up and I got a few sneay grins and what had to be one of the best scowls I’ve seen in a while! (But still adorable!)

Dahlia loved all the attention during the family pics and photos with her parents and I think we captured her best smiles as she was being held. So we were sure to get several of each parent with her and a few family options as she was in such a great mood.

We ended with a cake smash where Dahlia daintily tried a few licks of frosting on her cake. She didn’t mind the sweetness or sugar and a few times we thought she’d lean over and try a bite directly off the cake stand. But she was very careful to take little bites and even stood up next to the cake for a wonderful grande finale!

A truly fun time with this family and I wish Dahlia the best first birthday for such a sweet girl!
