Malia's Newborn Sneak Peek

It was so great to see this family again as they now welcome their second little one! Malia was such a snuggler during her newborn photo session and we were able to incorporate some props that had also been in her sister’s photos but also a few new ones with a purple and white color scheme.

Her parents had requested different colors than we’d used last time so as to make Malia’s session her own. I loved pulling out the purples and creams for her and matching them with headbands and fabrics.

We started with the biggest props first as she was nice and sleepy when she arrived at the studio. She did great as we captured some images in the wooden swing that’d I’d photoshop later for safety, plus some on the moon and twig bed.

The hot air balloon is always the trickiest one as babies need to be very asleep and comfortable on their tummy. It’s also not as easy to make adjustments due to the size of the basket, but Malia truly rocked it as she relaxed and let me make tweaks to her hat and headbands.

We also captured several curly sleepy poses on my beanbag with a rich purple fabric. She was happy on both her tummy and back and loved having her hands near her face. So I was able to flow through several poses while she happily slept away.

We ended with parent photos which is always a joy to capture! I love seeing how tiny newborns look in the arms of their parents and it was wonderful to close our session with such special photos.
