Emmalyn's Baby Sneak Peek

This sweet girl has had quite the wild ride since her birth in mid February. She was early for her April due date and spent several weeks in the NICU and then was on oxygen while at home. Her parents still wanted to capture some baby pictures as best we could even with this alert and wide eyed girl, and I think we came away a wonderful mix of portraits that show how much she’s grown and yet still got a few newborn-type images to make a beautiful gallery for a beautiful girl.

Emmalyn was so funny when she first arrived as she saw my huge light set up and was absolutely captivated. We all had to work to get her gaze on a parent or me, and she happy and peaceful for our first photos with her parents.

Mom and baby had matching blue floral dresses, and we took pictures with both mom and dad, the whole family together, and then even wrapped Emmalyn in a swaddle to see if she’d sleep for a few additional parent pics. She was still super interested in that giant light, but we just rolled with it and did a few extra images backlit.

I planned several setups for her swaddled to keep her safe and possibly encourage her to fall asleep. It was a gamble if we were going to be able to do any posed on my beanbag, so we first captured several in different wraps and colors in the heart bowl, moon basket, and with a special moon pillow.

She did end up falling asleep right toward the end and we were able to snag several of her on her tummy on a mauve colored blanket. What a special treat to get to add those right at the end! We were all super excited so way to go, Emmalyn!
