Rowan's First Birthday Sneak Peek

Rowan took his first birthday theme to heart as he truly was “One Happy Boy!” He smiled and laughed during our entire session and I had such fun with him and his parents as we captured these first birthday memories. He loved the balloons, all the special chairs, and most certainly being held by his parents for their family portraits. Plus his cake was truly smashed!

The entire family was color coordinated for the theme and everyone looked fantastic in their blues and oranges. Rowan had an adorable set of overalls with smily faces on them, and we created our own custom theme to match his mom’s vision using my blue balloon background and some real balloons added to the front in the additional colors.

Rowan was such a happy dude, and he loved the blocks and snacks as we went along adding props and changing up his chair options. We also snagged some great expressions as his parents played peek-a-boo and he played a favorite game of “throw the blocks”.

We added in additional family portraits as everyone looked so snazzy, and Rowan loved having his parents join in the fun. We captured several among the balloons and festive first birthday scene, but also took several classic portraits with my white background. It was hard to narrow those down as Rowan had great smiling pics and candids with each parent.

We ended with a cake smash where Rowan wasn’t quite sure what to do with the actual cake, but he loved deconstructing it and trying to smash all the little fondant balls and decorations. We all got in a workout keeping him engaged as he tried to crawl off a few times, but overall it was a huge success with one messy, yet very happy baby!
