Brooklyn's Birthday Sneak Peek

It was so wonderful to see this family again, this time for a very special photo session for Brooklyn’s second birthday. She was full of personality and I loved watching her slowly come out of her shell and enjoy herself, chatting about geese, tea parties, and her favorite book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear.

Brooklyn’s older brother has taken pictures with me before, and it was such a joy to get to shine the spotlight on her for a session. She was a bit shy at first as the studio is a new place and I’m a new person, but she eventually relaxed and had fun sitting in different chairs. She made a point to try each one and then talk about her favorite, and her sneaky smiles started to come out.

After a set of pictures with the purple vine background and her pink dress, we switched to a casual sweater for her and went with a classic and simple white background. She got to try out yet another stool and swung her legs back and forth and told me stories about some geese, since I’d been calling her a silly goose.

Then her mom brought out a favorite book, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and she was so animated and excited to flip through the pages and read me sections. My own kids have all been through a phase with this favorite children’s book, so I, too, have it memorized. She showed me pictures and then snuggled up with the smaller copy at the end, giving me her very best sneaky smile.

It truly was fun watching her come into her own for her pictures and I wish this special girl the very happiest second birthday!
