Natalia's Newborn Session Sneak Peek

Meet sweet little Natalia, who has a very special story. She is already a month old and is here in Denver awaiting heart surgery with her parents, who traveled from Albuquerque, New Mexico. They’ve been living at the Ronald McDonald house so they can attend all Natalia’s doctor appointments and such, and wanted to get some newborn photos of their beautiful little girl while she is still tiny.

Natalia was still a teeny baby at about 5 pounds, and she did so great for her big photography debut. Her parents had to not only get her and the normal baby things to the studio, but also her monitors and oxygen tank as her oxygen levels are continuously being monitored. Her parents were such troopers and were a huge help as I’d get Natalia into a position with her oxygen tubes, then we’d move cords as needed to get the photos, then put the oxygen back in place real quick.

I loved editing these first images, and I decided to do a mix of including the cords in some and removing them in others. The foot monitor is part of her unique story, so I wanted to incorporate it at times in an artistic way. Then other times I removed it so it didn’t detract from the beautiful baby and her sweet face.

To be trusted with such incredible photos and important memories is truly humbling, and I can’t say thank you enough to her family for inviting me to preserve this special time. I look forward to hearing about her successful surgery and that you get to finally take her home.
