I cannot believe that sweet Sage is already a whole year old! It's been such a joy to be part of this family's baby milestones, first with his two older sisters and now with baby brother. I absolutely love watching families grow and getting to capture these special memories along the way!
Sage was in such a wonderful mood for his big first birthday photography session! We had a blast capturing adorable astronaut-themed portraits, family and sibling pictures with his sisters, and ending with a fun splash bath!
An Out-of-This-World First Birthday Session
I always like to start my first birthday sessions with traditional milestone portraits before we move on to anything "messy." For Sage's one-year photos, his mom selected an adorable space and planet backdrop, and Sage had the cutest little orange astronaut outfit to coordinate!
He was all smiles from the very beginning, and we were able to move through several different chairs, baskets, and props to capture so many sweet expressions. He especially loved my little curved toddler chair, and by the time we reached our final set of portraits, he was practically screeching with delight!
Sage also made me work a little for his standing pictures! Every time we tried to capture him standing next to the little stool, he decided it would be much more fun to push it around and practice his walking skills instead. Such a busy little one-year-old!
Sweet Family & Sibling Pictures
After Sage's astronaut portraits, we moved on to some family and sibling pictures. One of my favorite parts of milestone photography is getting to include the whole family, especially when I've had the privilege of photographing the older siblings through these same stages!
Sage's big sisters did such a wonderful job holding their little brother in place and giving me their best smiles. We captured several adorable pictures of all three kids together that I just love!
Of course, we also made sure to get some beautiful portraits of the whole family, along with a few special pictures of Sage with just Mom and Dad. These are always such wonderful memories to have as little ones grow!
Splish Splash! A First Birthday Bath Session
For our final set of pictures, it was time for Sage's very own splash bath in my little toddler clawfoot tub!
He absolutely loved it! Sage had so much fun playing with the little boats and rubber duckies floating around in the water. He gave us a few good splashes before quickly deciding that getting water in his face wasn't quite as much fun!
But that certainly didn't stop the smiles! He laughed and grinned through nearly the entire bath, making for some of the sweetest first birthday pictures.
Splash baths are such a fun way to finish a first birthday milestone session, and I love capturing all those giggles and playful expressions!

I can't believe this sweet little guy is already one! It's been such a privilege to photograph all three of these wonderful kiddos through their baby milestones, and I'm so grateful to this family for continuing to trust me with their special memories.
