Celebrating Two Seniors in One Special Session
My first senior session of the season was especially meaningful because it was for twins, Erik and Vi, whose family I've had the privilege of photographing over the years. From previous family sessions to their older sister's senior portraits, it has been such a joy watching this family grow.
Getting to celebrate another milestone with them made this session even more special.
Perfect Weather After the Storm
Just a few hours before we met, a powerful summer rainstorm swept through the area. Thankfully it moved out just as quickly as it arrived, leaving behind incredible clouds, soft evening light, and one of those beautiful Colorado skies photographers dream about.
Sometimes the best light comes right after the storm.
Highlighting Each Senior's Individual Style
One of my favorite parts of photographing twins is making sure each senior's personality shines.
Erik chose a versatile outfit featuring jeans and a button-down shirt that allowed us to create several different looks simply by adding or removing his tie and rolling up his sleeves. Those small changes gave his gallery plenty of variety while keeping everything relaxed and authentic.
Vi brought three beautiful dresses, each with its own personality, along with an absolutely fabulous pair of boots. We found several locations that complemented each outfit, and I especially loved her final purple dress, which paired perfectly with the soft evening light and blooming summer flowers.
Celebrating Their Bond as Siblings
Throughout the evening, we alternated between individual portraits and photos of the twins together.
It was obvious how much fun they have with one another, and some of my favorite images came from the natural laughter they shared between poses. Even better, their mom had brought along photos from their older sister's senior session years earlier, so we recreated a few of those fun moments—a full-circle experience that made everyone smile.
Why Twin Senior Sessions Are So Much Fun
Photographing twins is such a unique experience because every gallery tells two stories at once. Each senior deserves portraits that reflect their own personality and interests, while also capturing the special relationship they share before they begin their next adventures after graduation.
Those sibling portraits often become some of the family's favorite images.

It was such a joy spending the evening with these two and seeing how much they've grown over the years. Being invited back to photograph another milestone for this family is something I'll always be grateful for.
