A Beautiful Morning for Senior Pictures at the Denver Botanic Gardens

Abigail and her family met with me bright and early this last weekend for photos at the Denver Botanic Gardens. We had a perfect morning with cool weather to start and countless beautiful flowers at their peak as fall was just beginning. Abigail was a trooper walking all over the gardens with me, and I loved the two outfits she chose for her senior pictures.

We started the morning with family portraits of Abigail and her sisters before the gardens became busy. Having those first few areas almost entirely to ourselves allowed us to capture beautiful images before visitors began arriving. Although several weddings were taking place throughout the gardens, there was still no shortage of gorgeous scenery to explore.

Two Perfect Outfits for a Senior Session

Her first outfit was a more casual look with jeans and a pink shirt and it was a great match for our first locations, especially around this one office building with a huge green door and ivy growing up the walls. We also had nooks of flowers and some water features along the way before she opted to change into her long dress and white cowgirl boots.

Her second outfit was perfect for the gardens as it went so well with the stone in the area, the changing trees, and I always love a great set of boots! We spent some time in the Japanese garden with all the bonsai trees, bridges, and other trees around the area that were starting to turn yellow.

Exploring the Japanese Garden and Hidden Gems

One of my favorite stops was the Japanese Garden. Between the bonsai trees, charming bridges, and trees beginning to turn shades of yellow, it created such a peaceful backdrop for senior portraits.

As we made our way toward the exit, we searched for one final location featuring purple flowers and eventually found the perfect spot. The colorful blooms, natural rocks, and quiet surroundings created beautiful places for Abigail to sit, and we even captured another family portrait while she wore her dress.

Overall it was truly a great session where we not only got to enjoy a beautiful morning at the gardens, but we captured tons of great senior pictures!
