Malia's First Birthday Sneak Peek

I can’t believe it’s been yet another year since I’ve seen this family and now their baby, Malia, is one year old! She was such doll during her first birthday session, taking some time to warm up to things before flashing us some amazing smiles. I loved all the side eye in between as she showed her unique personality during her photos and cake smash.

After last seeing Malia when she was a tiny newborn, it was joy to see her and her parents again to celebrate her first birthday. We started off with portraits against a purple and pink flower background and Malia had an adorable purple tulle dress and matching headband. She got to sit and play with some necklaces while she took time to take in all the new things around her.

By the time we got to some of the baskets and chairs, Malia gave us some amazing smiles! She really loved when we got out a stool for her to hold onto while standing and I can tell she’s ready to cruise away and start that independent journey.

Then we switched to her cake smash which we styled in much the same way as her older sister with the white background and a simple set of balloons. Malia even wore the same white dress that her sister wore during her cake smash.

Malia enjoyed the smash part of the event more than eating which was still fantastic. She smooshed icing, toppled the cake stand, and then smashed the cake even more on the floor. She was truly a trooper for giving the cake a try and we all enjoyed watching her fun.

A very happy birthday to you, Malia! It was a joy to be part of these special memories!
