Opal's Newborn Sneak Peek

Opal was such a sweetheart during her big newborn photo session and I loved getting to pull out all the pink flowery props as well as incorporate some fun and feminine fall touches. She was still so tiny and loved being wrapped up and swaddled that I was able to try a few different wraps and angles for her gallery.

We started with the big props first as Opal arrived sleepy. For safety I always make sure props are secure and then only put babies on the moon or twig bed when they are nice and relaxed, plus have a spotter in place. I loved adding in some fall pumpkins in purple and white since she’s a fall baby.

Opal was in a cluster feeding type of mood this day, so she would eat and get sleepy then wake up and want food again. So in between that we did a few different wraps for her parent photo, laying on a blanket, and then swaddled in a more upright position with her little hands tucked under her chin. Each time she just loved being swaddled and I loved getting to play with headbands or colors for these photos.

After parent photos and one of my favorite poses with the backlit portrait, we tried a few of Opal sleeping on my large beanbag. She let me snag a few of those sleepy pics with the flower hats and wraps, but then was wide awake. So I just went with her cues, pulled out a circular Moses basket and a flower background, and Opal finished peacefully looking around the room from her cozy nest.

It was great to get to meet this sweet girl and family! Enjoy this little sneak peek and welcome to the world, Opal!
