William's Cookie Themed First Birthday

It’s hard to believe that William is about to turn one year old! I took his newborn photos a year ago, saw him earlier in the fall for some updated family pictures, and now got to celebrate with him and this milestone birthday. Plus he had an adorable “one tough cookie” theme that was beyond perfect!

William was so cute in his custom shirt for his first birthday photos. I had one little plastic cookie and plate from my kid’s pretend kitchen that I gave to him, and he enjoyed putting in on the stool, holding it, or throwing it toward us so we could give it back. He also had the best smiles for mom when she was being silly behind me.

He also is just barely starting to stand unassisted and I was excited that we got a quick photo or two of him standing (with his cookie of course) while holding onto a white stool. He was so pleased with himself.

We ended with a fun cake smash where William truly took it to heart to “smash the cake”. He would grab fistfuls and then shake it off his hands or throw it a little off his fingers. I don’t think he enjoyed the sugar as much, but she sure had fun getting messy and crawling around. Check out that adorable little cookie on the back of his smash outfit!

I so enjoyed getting to see him and his mom again for this special celebration! A huge happy birthday to you, William, and I wish for more cake (and smashing) at your party!
