Smera's First Birthday and Cake Smash Sneak Peek

Sweet Smera came in over the weekend to celebrate her first birthday with photos and a fun cake smash. Her mom had picked out the teal and pink background to match her cute ruffle outfit and we added twinkle lights and confetti to the floor to make things really festive.

Smera gave lots of great smiles in her nice studio photos before the cake. She sat on the little curved white bench in her blush princess dress and her parents had brought in white clear cubes with balloons inside. It was a fun twist on the wooden letters spelling ONE and I also loved how they showed how tall Smera was when she stood next to them.

We also captured a full family photo with her parents and Smera was all smiles for that, too!

Then we changed scenes for her special cake smash in pink, purple, and teal colors. I was excited to pull out this background as it’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to photograph it. It was a perfect match with Smera’s colors and theme, and mom added the perfect touch with “happy birthday’ confetti on the floor.

Smera wasn’t sure what to do with the cake in terms of eating it, but she enjoyed pulling it apart and rubbing icing on the floor. She also took pieces of confetti and decorated the top of the cake. I think she got a few bites in there but overall she just had more fun moving cake pieces around and organizing the confetti.

A very happy first birthday to this special girl and a big thanks to her parents for trusting me with such precious photos and memories.
