A Beautiful Evening at Hudson Gardens
I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful evening with Brianna for her senior session at Hudson Gardens. We couldn't have asked for better weather, and it was so much fun exploring the gardens together while creating portraits to celebrate this exciting milestone.
One thing I always appreciate is when seniors come ready to embrace the experience, and Brianna certainly did. She came straight from cheerleading on one of Colorado's hottest afternoons, changed into her first outfit, and was ready to make the most of every minute.
Exploring the Gardens
Brianna's first outfit looked beautiful against the colorful flowers, stone bridge, and charming garden pathways near the entrance.
The rose garden and trellis are always favorites of mine this time of year, and the soft overcast sky created beautiful, even light for portraits. Brianna made my job easy—she was a natural in front of the camera and needed very little direction, which allowed us to keep moving and take advantage of all the beautiful scenery throughout the gardens.
Three Looks, Endless Variety
For her second outfit, Brianna changed into a more casual look as we explored the area around the red barn.
We were also rewarded with a perfect view of the sun setting over the Rocky Mountains, creating one of those classic Colorado portraits that always becomes a favorite.
Each outfit gave the session a completely different feel, adding so much variety to her final gallery.
Ending in Her Dream Location
One of my favorite moments from the evening came at the very end.
Before her session, Brianna had shared inspiration photos featuring tall native grasses glowing in the evening light. I immediately knew just the place at Hudson Gardens where we could create that same natural, timeless look.
As if that wasn't enough, we also discovered patches of wild sunflowers blooming nearby. The warm golden hour light illuminated the tops of the grasses, creating a magical setting that perfectly brought her vision to life.
Sometimes saving a favorite location for the very end is absolutely worth the wait.

Hudson Gardens continues to be one of my favorite senior portrait locations because it offers incredible variety in a single session. From elegant rose gardens and stone bridges to rustic barns, native grasses, mountain views, and colorful seasonal flowers, every senior can create a gallery that feels uniquely their own.
