A Beautiful Fall Evening at Aurora Reservoir
We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening for Samara's senior session. The weather was warm, the first hints of fall color were beginning to appear, and the golden evening light made every corner of Aurora Reservoir feel magical.
Samara and her mom were both up for a little adventure as we explored some of my favorite natural areas around the reservoir before ending the evening with an unforgettable Colorado sunset.
Celebrating Her Love of Figure Skating
One of my favorite things about senior sessions is incorporating something meaningful into each student's portraits.
For Samara, that meant beginning the session in her figure skating outfit with her skates. We explored one of the reservoir's natural areas where the warm evening light created such a beautiful backdrop for these images. Samara was wonderful about trying different poses and happily humored all of my creative ideas as we captured portraits that celebrated such an important part of her life.
Golden Grasses and Beautiful Fall Color
After changing into a cozy fall outfit, we wandered into one of my favorite areas filled with tall native grasses.
During the fall, these grasses take on beautiful shades of gold and deep red, creating one of my favorite natural backdrops in Colorado. They paired perfectly with Samara's gorgeous new hairstyle—which I have to admit, I absolutely loved! It almost had me considering a similar look for my next trip to the salon.
As we made our way back toward the car, we discovered another pocket of vibrant yellow leaves that perfectly complemented both her outfit and the warm autumn colors surrounding us.
Ending with a Colorado Sunset
Of course, no Aurora Reservoir senior session would be complete without taking advantage of sunset.
Samara managed one final quick outfit change before we headed to our last location. The sunset certainly didn't disappoint. Between the glowing sky, colorful fall foliage, and soft evening light, we wrapped up the session with some truly beautiful portraits that completed an incredible senior gallery.

Aurora Reservoir offers so much variety throughout the year. From open natural landscapes and tall native grasses to lakeside views and spectacular sunsets, it's one of my favorite places for seniors who want relaxed outdoor portraits with a true Colorado feel.
Each season brings something different, making every gallery unique.
