Grant's Newborn Sneak Peek

Sweet Grant had a rough start in this world with an extended NICU stay to get his blood sugar levels stabilized. But I’m so happy to share that he’s now doing great, thriving, and was a fabulous model for his newborn session last week. So while we didn’t get the hospital pictures we’d imagined, we did wonderful newborn pictures in the studio with the whole family.

First of all, it was so nice to see this family again, including big sister Reagan! She was such a cutie in her fancy dress and we captured a few big smiles of her with her brother and in a fully family picture. That’s not always easy with toddlers, but she really did rock it and was willing to try everything we asked.

Grant was a big guy at over 8 pounds, so I pulled out props that worked with his size and were we could still get our sibling photos. He was a champ on the twig bed, and we added in snow elements in white and blue to celebrate him as a winter baby.

He also didn’t mind snuggling inside the bucket with the navy snow design on the outside, and let me add in hats, lights, and snowflakes to a few pictures.

The parents are also big Aggie fans and graduated there around the same time I did, so of course we got pictures of their Aggie rings on Grant’s toes, with a tiny Reville dog, and in a Texas A&M newborn hat. It’s always such fun to get to pull these props out and share that bond with a fellow Aggie all the way here in Colorado!

We ended with a still very sleepy Grant doing tushie up poses on the beanbag, snuggled on the blue and cream fabrics. We even captured a particularly adorable pic of him in a handknit lion cap and diaper cover. It sure put a smile on my face!

It truly was great to catch up with this now family of four and see them again! I can’t wait to share this little sneak peek of sweet Grant and hope to see them all again soon!
